IslandLovely Hula Hands1940
R.A. Anderson
Learned from the Ray Kinney Hawaiian Quintet version. I added a ton of flange and reverb to the lead uke track for the instrumental break, and I was pleased with the inside-a-tin-can sound it produced.
Sleepy Lagoon1942
E. Coates/J. Lawrence
Performed with a banjo uke, which is not typical for Hawaiian-style music. Also recorded with lousy sound equipment. What's the matter with me?
Hawaiian Paradise1935
Harry Owens
Recorded in 2004 at Shabby Road Studios, Brooklyn, NY, Roger Greenawalt, engineer. Another one done with my pal, Roger. This one came out okay, although I would have liked to re-do the lame whistling track.
